Workshop

Imagined Futures | 25.01.2022

The workshop aims to discuss the reality status of the future from an interdisciplinary perspective. Is the future not-real or not-actual, and how are the two dimensions connected? Has the reality of the future the status of an imagination or of a fiction? How are imagination and fiction related in the production of the future, and how do they affect expectations and planning? Which reality has the future in the present moment? Do different social systems as the economy and organizations have their own futures, how do they interact with each other and with the futures of individual actors? Does technological innovation affect the construction and the relevance of the future?  These and other questions will be debated combining the perspectives of sociology, anthropology, literary studies, and philosophy.
